About Kory Wiita
Kory Wiita is a Senior at Highland High School. Academically, Kory has excelled by achieving a 4.6 GPA and ranking 3rd in his class. He is interested in computer programming and robotics and has plans to attend Ohio Northern University, Toledo, Miami of Ohio, or University of Central Florida after graduation. He plans on majoring in Aeronautical Engineering and working for NASA someday.
Kory loves Northside Christian Church, where he has been attending most of his life. It is where he was baptized, where he has volunteered with VBS, and where he has grown into a young man of faith.
Football and Tennis have been Kory’s sports at Highland. He is a star on the Varsity Tennis Team and has been their captain for the last two years. Kory is a three year letter winner in tennis, breaking into the line up in his Freshman year, co-captain his sophomore and captain his junior year. He won the Ohio Tennis Coaches' Association Silver Racket Award his junior year. Kory was awarded the scholar athlete award all three years on the team and last year won All-Suburban League and All Medina County honors in tennis. Having played football since he was 8 years old, Kory was excited to be a defensive back and special teams standout for the Highland Hornets Varsity Team.
It’s not just brains and athleticism that makes Kory special, as anyone who knows him will tell you. He has a smile that makes friends in an instant. His kind-hearted and gentle spirit is balanced with a sense of humor and a genuine interest in other people. He is a loyal friend, a loving son, a cuddly brother, a fun cousin, an angelic nephew, a thoughtful grandson and a child of God.
